For International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating women in business by recognising some of Newquay’s female entrepreneurs. As a woman-owned business, we’re keen to spend International Women’s Day supporting some of Newquay’s fellow business women in this appreciation post.

Suzanne Postings (Hope Healing)

Whilst travelling around Asia and Australia in 2001, Suzie discovered Reiki and yoga in a little town called Pai at the foothills of the mountains of Thailand, where her view of the World changed forever. She was initiated into the Shamballa Reiki system and trained as a Reiki Master, where she saw some amazing transformations and healing take place. In 2015, keen to share the power of Reiki with others, Suzanne started her own Reiki business, Hope Healing, which offers Reiki treatments, training, and more recently – power retrievals. By hosting workshops and courses throughout Newquay, such as at The Beached Lamb Cafe and Oceanflow Yoga Studio, Suzie can share her knowledge and Reiki healing with others.

Vikki Dores (WALK HAPPY)

In 2015, Vikki started her own dog walking business called WALK HAPPY. The business has become a full-time commitment for Vikki, and WALK HAPPY has grown to become one of the most popular and best-rated dog walkers in the Newquay area. Vikki is fully insured, first aid trained, and holds a canine behaviour certificate. She has two dogs, Trigger and Tillie.

Tracey Farmer (Higherwell Farm)

An animal and nature lover, Tracey realised that her spacious farm could benefit other dog owners. Keen to provide the people of Cornwall with a safe and secure place to exercise their dogs off-lead, Tracey dedicated part of her farm to becoming the Dog Walking & Exercise Field over 3 years ago. The field helps dog owners to improve their pup’s recall and training, and it’s a safe space for dogs with behavioural issues. The field is hugely popular and has even won an award as Cornwall’s best Dog Walking Field 2017. Tracey also started a small pet boarding service to offer comfortable and friendly care to small animals in Cornwall, and will soon be running a dog-friendly holiday let at the farm in Rejerrah.
